Witchcraft in the Modern World: New Perspectives on Witchcraft, Magic, and Demonology

This edition finally does the material justice. The print is clean and easy on the eyes for long sessions. Some archaic spellings slow things down. Solid, if not essential.

Came across this title in a footnote and had to track it down. I found myself reading passages aloud just to sit with them. The print is clean and easy on the eyes for long sessions. Delivery took a bit longer than quoted. Solid, if not essential.

Needed this for my research. Some chapters demand a slow, careful read, and that's exactly the point. The font runs small in the appendices. Recommended with reservations.

Situated firmly on the witchcraft and Wicca shelf, this Routledge volume provides a scholarly editorial lens on demonology and magic. The source material for this specific edition is remarkably sparse, omitting a detailed synopsis or known hooks, which means its value relies heavily on its academic publisher's reputation. It does not suit casual readers, practitioners seeking practical spellcraft manuals, or those looking for narrative pop-history. Instead, it is aimed directly at scholars and dedicated collectors of formal esoteric history who value theoretical perspectives over accessible introductions.
