Long-time student of the esoteric here. I found myself reading passages aloud just to sit with them. Plenty of passages worth underlining; my copy is already full of margin notes.
This exceeded my expectations. I found myself reading passages aloud just to sit with them. It's become a regular reference in my practice. I'd have loved an index, but that's on the original text. Still worth having on the shelf.

I've read excerpts online before, but having the full text is different. I appreciated how the argument builds steadily from first principles. Every rereading turns up something I missed.
This edition finally does the material justice. Some sections stopped me cold in the best way. It reads better in small doses — a chapter at a time with notes.
Took a chance on this and glad I did. The ideas are old but land with surprising force today. Challenging in places, but never needlessly obscure. It assumes more background than a beginner might have. Good, with the caveats above.
Bought this as a gift for my sister and ended up ordering a second copy for myself. It connects ideas I'd only seen treated separately elsewhere. My only regret is not ordering it sooner.
