My book club chose this last month. The typesetting is comfortable for study, with good margins for notes. Some chapters demand a slow, careful read, and that's exactly the point. Well worth it.
Not my usual area but wanted to branch out. It's become a regular reference in my practice. A keeper.
Been hunting for a decent copy of this text for ages. The print is clean and easy on the eyes for long sessions.
I've read excerpts online before, but having the full text is different. The language takes some getting used to, but it becomes part of the charm. A keeper.
Rossini and Antelme provide a rigorous, albeit dense, analysis that bridges ancient Egyptian funerary texts with modern metaphysical inquiry. The work succeeds in presenting the death ritual as a complex system of magical defenses necessary for solarization and eternal life. However, readers seeking light, accessible pop-spirituality or simple historical narratives will likely find this text overly technical and abstract. It demands patience and an interest in esoteric mechanics rather than casual storytelling. This is not for those expecting easy answers or quick readings; it requires engagement with intricate ritual stages and theological concepts to appreciate the full scope of the soul’s transformation.
