The Wildwood Tarot Deck: Wherein Wisdom Resides [With Booklet] (Co-Edition)

Ordered this after seeing it referenced in another book I was studying. The text itself is dense but rewarding — you get out what you put in. Five stars from me.

Been hunting for a decent copy of this text for ages. It connects ideas I'd only seen treated separately elsewhere. A keeper.

Perfect companion for my morning study sessions. Some chapters demand a slow, careful read, and that's exactly the point. The font runs small in the appendices.

Ordered this after seeing it referenced in another book I was studying. It reads better in small doses — a chapter at a time with notes. Plenty of passages worth underlining; my copy is already full of margin notes. Good, with the caveats above.

Mark Ryan’s Wildwood Tarot offers a refreshing departure from conventional occult systems by rooting its imagery in pre-Celtic mythology and shamanic traditions. The rich illustrations and seasonal focus create a cohesive, immersive experience for divination. However, readers accustomed to the Rider-Waite-Smith system or those seeking rigid, traditional esoteric structures may find the lack of standard symbolism disorienting. It is not suited for casual users looking for quick, standardized interpretations without engaging with the accompanying guidebook. Those willing to embrace its unique ecological and ancestral framework will discover a powerful, meditative tool that bridges modern spirituality with ancient forest wisdom.
