Exactly what I was looking for. The print is clean and easy on the eyes for long sessions. I appreciated how the argument builds steadily from first principles. Shipping was quick too.
Not my usual area but wanted to branch out. I found myself reading passages aloud just to sit with them. The text itself is dense but rewarding — you get out what you put in. Solid, if not essential.
Needed this for my research. Solid binding, decent paper — holds up to heavy use.
Long-time student of the esoteric here. It's become a regular reference in my practice. I found myself reading passages aloud just to sit with them. My only quibble is the cover feels thinner than expected. Good, with the caveats above.
I've read excerpts online before, but having the full text is different. Plenty of passages worth underlining; my copy is already full of margin notes. The material is presented clearly and the structure makes it easy to revisit key passages. Deserves a place on any esoteric bookshelf.
Grabbed this during a weekend order. I appreciated how the argument builds steadily from first principles. Plenty of passages worth underlining; my copy is already full of margin notes. Definitely recommend.
Not my usual area but wanted to branch out. It rewards patience more than any book I've bought this year. You can tell why this work has endured. Shipping was quick too.
Daimler offers a concise, practical resource that successfully merges historical accuracy with spiritual utility. The book shines by making the complex world of Irish gods approachable for those seeking tangible devotion. However, it does NOT suit readers looking for dense academic theory or those uninterested in active devotional practice. It is not a comprehensive mythological anthology but rather a functional guide for worship. Those expecting purely scholarly analysis may find its spiritual focus too informal. Conversely, modern practitioners will appreciate the clear entries and respectful advice. It is a strong tool for establishing connections with deities, provided one accepts its practical, non-academic orientation as its primary strength rather than a limitation.
