Forever Paris: 25 Walks in the Footsteps of Chanel, Hemingway, Picasso, and More
A photographic guide to twenty-five Parisian walks linked to famous historical figures.
The text utilizes full-color maps and photographs to document specific urban spaces associated with cultural icons. It avoids broad historical narratives in favor of precise geographical itineraries. The author leverages experience from City Walks: Paris deck to ensure accuracy in route selection. This approach allows readers to physically traverse the neighborhoods that inspired major works by writers and artists. The guide emphasizes the sensory experience of the city, from late-night bars to daytime markets. It serves as a practical tool for those wishing to replicate the daily routines of past residents. The structure prioritizes visual aids and clear directions over extensive textual analysis.
Published by Chronicle Books in 2012, this work fits within the genre of illustrated travel guides. It targets an audience interested in the intersection of tourism and cultural history. The book relies on photography to document the enduring physical presence of Parisian landmarks.

This has been on my wishlist for months. It's become a regular reference in my practice. The historical context alone makes it worth the price. My only quibble is the cover feels thinner than expected.
Arrived faster than expected and well packaged. It reads better in small doses — a chapter at a time with notes. Delivery took a bit longer than quoted. Still worth having on the shelf.
Exactly what I was looking for. I found myself reading passages aloud just to sit with them. Well worth it.
My third book from this store and this one might be the best. The material is presented clearly and the structure makes it easy to revisit key passages. Solid binding, decent paper — holds up to heavy use.
Ordered this after seeing it referenced in another book I was studying. Every rereading turns up something I missed. Still worth having on the shelf.
Took a chance on this and glad I did. The typesetting is comfortable for study, with good margins for notes. There's real depth here that reveals itself on a second reading.
This has been on my wishlist for months. You can tell why this work has endured. The font runs small in the appendices. Happy enough with the purchase.
