Porn for Women: (Funny Books for Women, Books for Women with Pictures) Cambridge Women's Pornography Cooperative

This volume presents a series of photographic images designed to appeal to female readers through satire and role reversal. The Cambridge Women's Pornography Cooperative created this work to subvert traditional gender expectations found in mainstream media. Instead of the male gaze, the book offers a perspective where men perform household duties or display domestic competence. The subjects include hunky men engaged in activities such as cooking dinner, listening attentively, or asking for directions. These visual elements are paired with steamy captions that highlight female desires for clean houses and partners who share chores. Phrases like 'I love a clean house' or 'As long as I have two legs to walk on you will never take out the trash' appear alongside the images to create a specific tone. The book invites readers into a fantasy world where clothes are folded neatly and flatulence is not considered funny. It positions itself as a form of pornography for women by focusing on these domestic scenarios rather than explicit sexual content. The layout consists of ninety-six pages filled with PG-rated photography. Chronicle Books published this title in 2007, making it a product of its specific time period. The work relies on the contrast between attractive male models and mundane household tasks to generate humor. It does not offer serious advice on relationships or domestic management. Instead it provides a lighthearted critique of gender norms through visual gags and text. Readers seeking traditional romance novels or instructional guides on home economics will find this book unsuitable. The content is strictly photographic and textual, with no additional essays or historical analysis. The cooperative behind the project uses irony to challenge the reader's expectations of what constitutes erotic material for women.
