As someone who reads a lot in this field, I can be picky. Challenging in places, but never needlessly obscure. Some archaic spellings slow things down. Still worth having on the shelf.
Arrived faster than expected and well packaged. I appreciated how the argument builds steadily from first principles. Would buy from this store again.
Finally got around to ordering this. The language takes some getting used to, but it becomes part of the charm. It rewards patience more than any book I've bought this year. Still worth having on the shelf.
As someone who reads a lot in this field, I can be picky. You can tell why this work has endured. Definitely recommend.
Caldecott delivers a compelling curation of eleven ancient narratives that blend warrior prowess with deep spiritual insight. The text succeeds in transmitting a profound recognition of existential mystery, making it valuable for students of Celtic mythology and esoteric studies. However, readers seeking lighthearted folklore or purely academic historical analysis may find the tone too intense or the commentary insufficiently rigorous. It is not suited for those who prefer sanitized, modernized retellings devoid of disturbing spiritual elements. The strength lies in its unflinching look at transformative magic and female authority, appealing to those ready to engage with complex, ancient feminine archetypes rather than passive listeners of simple fairy tales.
