Fun Fact

This deck excels at bridging the gap between classic tarot structure and contemporary artistic expression. Gorman's vibrant, personal artwork provides a refreshing lens for RWS enthusiasts, offering both familiarity and novelty. While it beautifully serves those seeking introspective tools and artistic inspiration, purists expecting strict replication of Waite's original imagery might find it too subjective. It firmly establishes itself as a significant, modern contribution to the Rider-Waite-Smith interpretive tradition.

Occult literature desk

This deck successfully revitalizes classic tarot symbolism through Gorman’s globally recognized visionary art, offering a cohesive and accessible entry point for modern practitioners. The inclusion of Benebell Wen’s foreword adds scholarly weight to the intuitive experience. However, it may not suit readers seeking traditional, austere esoteric frameworks or those who prefer black-and-white imagery over full-color vibrancy. It is also less appropriate for advanced occultists looking for dense, complex ceremonial correspondences rather than psychological and artistic exploration. While the guidebook provides necessary context, its focus on personal connection might feel too soft for those demanding rigid dogmatic structures. Overall, it is a polished, beautiful tool best suited for those valuing emotional resonance and visual inspiration in their divinatory practice.
