I collect works on this subject and this is a worthy addition. A text you study rather than simply read. One of my better finds this year.
Needed this for my research. The typesetting is comfortable for study, with good margins for notes. Well worth it.
I collect works on this subject and this is a worthy addition. Some chapters demand a slow, careful read, and that's exactly the point. The historical context alone makes it worth the price. Will be gifting a copy to a friend.
My book club chose this last month. I appreciated how the argument builds steadily from first principles. The material is presented clearly and the structure makes it easy to revisit key passages.
Needed this for my research. I found myself reading passages aloud just to sit with them. One of my better finds this year.
Not my usual area but wanted to branch out. It connects ideas I'd only seen treated separately elsewhere. The font runs small in the appendices. Good, with the caveats above.
This book succeeds in dismantling the intimidation factor of the Celtic Cross spread, offering a refreshing alternative to stiff academic texts. By grounding positions in classic tradition while maintaining contemporary clarity, MacLeod creates a practical manual for immediate application. However, it does not suit those who crave rigorous historical analysis or strict adherence to established ceremonial magic protocols. Readers seeking scholarly depth or complex theoretical frameworks may find the approach too simplified or irreverent. It is best appreciated by those prioritizing intuitive connection and daily usability over academic precision, making it a delightful but niche addition for purists.
