Finally got around to ordering this. Some chapters demand a slow, careful read, and that's exactly the point. It pairs well with more modern commentaries on the same tradition. Will be gifting a copy to a friend.
Been hunting for a decent copy of this text for ages. The symbolism is layered and generous to patient readers. One of my better finds this year.
My book club chose this last month. Some chapters demand a slow, careful read, and that's exactly the point. It connects ideas I'd only seen treated separately elsewhere. Still worth having on the shelf.
RavenWolf delivers a robust resource that effectively demystifies solitary practice for the modern age. The structure is logical, guiding readers from foundational theory to daily application with clarity and warmth. However, it may not suit those seeking highly specific ritual formulas or rigid traditionalist Wiccan doctrines, as it emphasizes personal autonomy over established orthodoxy. Additionally, readers looking for dense academic history rather than practical application might find the historical overview too brief. It is best appreciated by those who value flexibility and personal interpretation in their spiritual work, offering a welcoming entry point into the esoteric arts without overwhelming complexity.
