This edition succeeds beautifully in its goal to preserve the authentic artistic integrity of the seminal Smith-Waite Tarot. The muted tones and full pictorial scenes are rendered with care, making it an ideal choice for traditionalists who value historical accuracy over modern flair. However, readers seeking bold, vibrant colors or contemporary symbolic interpretations may find the aesthetic too subdued or conservative. It is not suited for those who prefer digital divination tools or decks that prioritize innovative, abstract designs over faithful recreation. While the compact size is convenient, some might wish for a slightly larger format to fully appreciate the intricate details of Smith’s distinctive brushwork and composition.
