Fun Fact

Pogačnik succeeds in elevating geomancy from a parlor trick to a profound ecological spirituality. His voice is authoritative yet inviting, making complex metaphysical concepts accessible. However, readers seeking quick, mechanical instructions for divination may find the philosophical depth frustrating. This book sits firmly in the lineage of ceremonial earth-magic, appealing to those who view the planet as a living, responsive entity rather than inert matter.

📝 Description: Sacred Geography: Geomancy: Co-Creating the Earth Cosmos

"This is my second effort to present geomancy as a whole to the public consciousness. I wrote my first book on this subject in German more than ten years ago, titled School of Geomancy (Schule der Geomantie, Knaur, Munich, 1996). However, since that time my knowledge of geomancy, coupled with my practical field work, has evolved and deepened to the extent that I was compelled to write a completely new book." -- Marko Pogačnik Marko Pogačnik has written several books based on the results of his research into and practice of what he terms geomancy. In this book, he presents the fundamental research and principles behind this new science of the spirit.

Occult literature desk

Pogačnik offers a rigorous reimagining of geomancy that demands serious engagement from the reader. It is not suitable for those seeking quick answers or superficial fortune-telling, as it requires a willingness to engage in deep, ongoing dialogue with the environment. The text synthesizes complex German scholarship with new insights, which may alienate readers preferring accessible, light spiritual guides. It is best suited for dedicated practitioners ready for a comprehensive framework of subtle energies and co-creation. Those looking for simple techniques without philosophical depth will likely find this dense and abstract. However, for those committed to the sacred science of landscape, it provides an indispensable, transformative perspective on our connection to Gaia.

📜 Historical context

Geomancy has long occupied a niche between folk magic and high ceremonial tradition, often dismissed as mere fortune-telling. Pogačnik revitalizes this ancient practice by anchoring it in contemporary ecological consciousness and rigorous personal research.
