Ghosts of Hollywood: The Show Still Goes on

I keep coming back to this one. The ideas are old but land with surprising force today. My only quibble is the cover feels thinner than expected. Solid, if not essential.

This edition finally does the material justice. The typesetting is comfortable for study, with good margins for notes. A text you study rather than simply read. Still worth having on the shelf.

Perfect companion for my morning study sessions. The material is presented clearly and the structure makes it easy to revisit key passages. Five stars from me.

Finally got around to ordering this. The print is clean and easy on the eyes for long sessions. Plenty of passages worth underlining; my copy is already full of margin notes. If you're drawn to this subject, don't hesitate.

Was skeptical at first. The material is presented clearly and the structure makes it easy to revisit key passages. Already eyeing my next order.

Exactly what I was looking for. I appreciated how the argument builds steadily from first principles.

Brooks delivers a spirited collection of hauntings that captures the eerie atmosphere of Hollywood’s historic sites. The narrative effectively weaves together murder, curses, and eternal fame, making it engaging for casual readers interested in local lore. However, those seeking rigorous academic analysis or deep theological discourse on spiritualism may find the tone too light or anecdotal. It is less suitable for skeptics who demand empirical evidence over atmospheric storytelling. Ultimately, it succeeds as a entertaining guide to the shadowed underbelly of Tinseltown, appealing primarily to fans of celebrity ghost stories and paranormal tourism rather than serious occult scholars.
