About the author
Graham Phillips is a British author known for books that combine archaeology, mythology, and historical speculation, many of them published by Bear & Company. His work often takes a real historical or archaeological puzzle, such as the location of King Arthur's tomb in The Lost Tomb of King Arthur, the fate of a submerged Doggerland in The Mystery of Doggerland, or the search for the Holy Grail in The Chalice of Magdalene, and pursues it through a mix of documentary research, fieldwork, and reinterpretation of existing evidence. His most recent book, The Original Zodiac (2025), turns to ancient Mesopotamian astrology and its eighteen zodiac signs, drawing on decades of research into a system he presents as predating the familiar twelve-sign zodiac. Phillips writes for a general audience drawn to alternative history and the unresolved edges of archaeology, rather than for academic specialists.
