The Linestrider Tarot

This exceeded my expectations. The language takes some getting used to, but it becomes part of the charm. Definitely recommend.

Came across this title in a footnote and had to track it down. It pairs well with more modern commentaries on the same tradition. Still worth having on the shelf.

Been hunting for a decent copy of this text for ages. Some chapters demand a slow, careful read, and that's exactly the point. Solid, if not essential.

I collect works on this subject and this is a worthy addition. Solid binding, decent paper — holds up to heavy use. It pairs well with more modern commentaries on the same tradition. Deserves a place on any esoteric bookshelf.

I've read excerpts online before, but having the full text is different. The typesetting is comfortable for study, with good margins for notes. Some chapters demand a slow, careful read, and that's exactly the point. My only quibble is the cover feels thinner than expected. Good, with the caveats above.

Not my usual area but wanted to branch out. The ideas are old but land with surprising force today. The symbolism is layered and generous to patient readers. Definitely recommend.

Arrived faster than expected and well packaged. You can tell why this work has endured.

Thompson’s deck successfully reimagines the Rider-Waite-Smith tradition through a sleek, linear lens, offering distinct clarity for those who prefer uncluttered symbolism. The vibrant lines create a unique visual language that bridges the rational and mystical effectively. However, readers accustomed to the rich, detailed narratives of classic Waite decks or highly illustrative modern interpretations may find the minimalism stark or emotionally distant. It lacks the ornate storytelling that some traditionalists crave, potentially feeling too abstract for those who rely on dense iconography for guidance. This is a niche tool best suited for those valuing aesthetic simplicity and conceptual balance over elaborate visual drama.
