I collect works on this subject and this is a worthy addition. Plenty of passages worth underlining; my copy is already full of margin notes. Every rereading turns up something I missed. It assumes more background than a beginner might have. Happy enough with the purchase.

This edition finally does the material justice. The language takes some getting used to, but it becomes part of the charm. Some archaic spellings slow things down. Good, with the caveats above.

Came across this title in a footnote and had to track it down. The text itself is dense but rewarding — you get out what you put in. The typesetting is comfortable for study, with good margins for notes. Already eyeing my next order.
