📝 Description: Medicine Woman Tarot Deck

Carol Bridges presents a seventy-eight card tarot deck centered on Mother Earth, natural seasons, and feminine strength within all people. The set alters traditional tarot terminology to reflect its earth-centered focus. The twenty-two Major Arcana cards, named the Great Mystery, follow a life path beginning with the Seed and ending with the Dancer. Within the Minor Arcana, the four suits are Stones, Pipes, Arrows, and Bowls. The court cards are renamed as apprentice, totem, lodge, and exemplar. Bridges brings a background in psychology, art, and women's issues from the University of Iowa to this work. Her spiritual lineage is grounded in the native harmony of the land, and she teaches ceremonies through the Church of the earth in Southern Indiana as well as Sun Bear's Medicine Wheel Gatherings. She has also written articles, books on spirituality, and The Medicine Woman Inner Guidebook. This deck suits readers seeking positive imagery for self-creation and those who want to work with seasonal powers. It does not suit practitioners who prefer standard suit names, traditional court ranks, or historic European tarot iconography.

Occult literature desk

Medicine Woman Tarot offers a lush, earthy alternative to traditional Rider-Waite-Smith structures, appealing strongly to those who prefer animistic and nature-based symbolism. The reimagining of suits into Stones, Pipes, Arrows, and Bowls provides a cohesive thematic experience centered on feminine power and ecological wisdom. However, enthusiasts of rigid Kabbalistic correspondences or classical European tarot history may find the departure from standard iconography jarring or insufficiently detailed for advanced scholarly study. It lacks the dense astrological links some hardline occultists demand. Nevertheless, as a tool for intuitive healing and personal empowerment, it succeeds beautifully, provided one accepts its specific spiritual lineage without expecting traditional elemental associations.
