Horary Astrology Re-Examined
A practical guide applying traditional astrological methods to chart evaluation and over fifty specific questions.
Barbara Dunn grounds her study in traditional astrological evaluations used to assess planetary strengths for Questions, Nativities, and Elections. The text demonstrates that these ancient techniques apply universally across every chart type, rather than remaining isolated within separate branches. Structured as both a comprehensive reference guide and a practical casebook, it provides detailed judgements on over fifty distinct Questions. Throughout the work, the focus remains on concrete application rather than abstract philosophy, clarifying the unified, approved rules of the craft handed down over a thousand years.
The book sits within a thousand-year tradition of predictive astrology, referencing historical authors from classical Ptolemy to Abu Ma'shar, Bonatti, and William Lilly. It addresses the challenge astrologers face as an isolated group maintaining their identity within a hostile world.

⭐ Reader reviews
Reader rating
Dunn offers a meticulous re-examination of foundational principles, arguing convincingly for the universality of classical planetary evaluation. While the text succeeds in demystifying historical methods through extensive case studies, it may not suit casual readers seeking quick, intuitive tips. It demands a serious engagement with traditional theory and technical precision. Those preferring purely psychological or modern psychological astrology might find the rigid structural arguments less appealing. However, for the dedicated student of traditional arts, this is a vital resource that clarifies complex historical debates with scholarly rigor.
