⭐ Reader reviews
Reader rating
This book succeeds as an entertaining primer for those seeking light, spooky thrills tied to a specific location. However, it does not suit serious historians or adult readers expecting rigorous academic analysis of Scottish architecture or medieval warfare. The narrative prioritizes atmospheric storytelling over factual depth, making it unsuitable for those who demand precise dates and primary source citations. It is best viewed as a companion to a visit rather than a definitive historical record. While the evocative imagery enhances the experience, the content remains superficial regarding the complex political realities of Edinburgh Castle. Readers looking for profound philosophical insights into the occult will find this text too simplistic.
