About the author
Ryan Nagelhout has written nonfiction titles for young readers published by Gareth Stevens, covering historical and legendary subjects connected to the occult and supernatural. The Prophecies of Nostradamus (2014) surveys the predictions attributed to the sixteenth-century French astrologer and the controversy around interpreting his writing, while the Haunted! series, including Haunted! Alcatraz (2013) and Haunted! Edinburgh Castle (2013), pairs the documented history of well-known sites with the ghost stories associated with them, from Alcatraz's infamous inmates to Edinburgh Castle's accounts of battle, plague, and reputed hauntings. Nagelhout's books are educational in format, aimed at younger readers and general audiences looking for accessible introductions to historical figures and haunted landmarks rather than practicing occultists or specialists.
