Beltane: Rituals, Recipes & Lore for May Day Llewellyn

Came across this title in a footnote and had to track it down. You can tell why this work has endured. Delivery took a bit longer than quoted. Good, with the caveats above.

My third book from this store and this one might be the best. I appreciated how the argument builds steadily from first principles. Would buy from this store again.

My book club chose this last month. The ideas are old but land with surprising force today. Every rereading turns up something I missed. Some archaic spellings slow things down. Solid, if not essential.

A friend in my study group recommended this one. The historical context alone makes it worth the price. Five stars from me.

This guide effectively bridges the gap between historical tradition and contemporary practice, offering a robust toolkit for Beltane celebrations. It succeeds in providing detailed instructions for rituals that harness fertility and growth, supported by a rich array of spells and meditations. However, it does not suit readers seeking deep academic historiography or those who prefer solitary, introspective practices over the active, communal, or ritualistic engagement this text encourages. The focus on 'tangible magical results' may feel too practical for those interested in purely philosophical explorations of the season. While excellent for hands-on witches, it lacks the theoretical depth required by scholars or those uninterested in crafting physical items or performing specific workings.
