About the author
Angela Paine writes on the history of herbal medicine, with a background in plant chemistry underpinning her research into plants used in healing across different periods and cultures. Healing Plants of Renaissance Florence looks at the development of herbal medicine under the Medici, while Healing Plants of Greek Myth traces plant remedies back to references in Greek mythology and their survival in Latin plant names still used today. The Healing Power of Celtic Plants and its follow-up, Healing Plants of the Celtic Druids, cover plant medicine used by the Celts and later Druid healers in Britain. All are published by Moon Books and combine historical and mythological research with discussion of the plants' traditional uses, aimed at readers interested in herbalism and the history of medicine.
