Was skeptical at first. The material is presented clearly and the structure makes it easy to revisit key passages. Deserves a place on any esoteric bookshelf.
First purchase from this shop. The historical context alone makes it worth the price.
Perfect companion for my morning study sessions. Not a light read, but far more accessible than I feared. Recommended with reservations.
This edition finally does the material justice. I appreciated how the argument builds steadily from first principles.
Long-time student of the esoteric here. There's real depth here that reveals itself on a second reading. It reads better in small doses — a chapter at a time with notes. Definitely recommend.
Harrington successfully bridges archaic tradition and modern life, offering a potent guide that balances scholarly citation with practical ritual application. The emphasis on historical precedent provides a sturdy foundation for contemporary magick, particularly for those interested in love, invisibility, or protection spells derived from traditional sources. However, this book may not suit readers seeking strictly academic botanical studies or those who prefer purely intuitive, unstructured magical practices over cited historical frameworks. It is designed for the active practitioner willing to engage with detailed origins rather than quick, superficial fixes. For the dedicated witch looking to root their daily rituals in deep precedent, it serves as an excellent workshop manual and reference library.
