Living the Wheel: Working with Emotion, Terror and Bliss Through Imagery
Nelson dismantles the spiritual bypass that often masks psychological trauma, urging readers to face the raw, unfiltered emotions of the unconscious. Rather than striving for saintly perfection, she advocates for the suspension of judgment, allowing the spirit self to emerge from the shadows of denial. This guide offers potent imagery techniques to transform perceived negative feelings into fuel for awakening. It is a pragmatic roadmap for those ready to stop hiding from their humanity and start integrating the chaotic, vital energy that fuels true spiritual health and inner unity.

Perfect companion for my morning study sessions. Challenging in places, but never needlessly obscure. Some sections stopped me cold in the best way.
Added this to my reference shelf. The typesetting is comfortable for study, with good margins for notes. There's real depth here that reveals itself on a second reading. The font runs small in the appendices. Happy enough with the purchase.
This edition finally does the material justice. The ideas are old but land with surprising force today. There's real depth here that reveals itself on a second reading. Delivery took a bit longer than quoted. Happy enough with the purchase.
My book club chose this last month. I appreciated how the argument builds steadily from first principles. The language takes some getting used to, but it becomes part of the charm. My only quibble is the cover feels thinner than expected. Solid, if not essential.
This has been on my wishlist for months. The historical context alone makes it worth the price.
Arrived faster than expected and well packaged. The symbolism is layered and generous to patient readers. The ideas are old but land with surprising force today. Delivery took a bit longer than quoted. Still worth having on the shelf.
Needed this for my research. It pairs well with more modern commentaries on the same tradition.
Nelson provides a necessary corrective to the often sanitized landscape of occult literature by insisting on the integration of raw psychological trauma. The imagery techniques are potent and practical, offering a clear path from denial to awakening. However, this book does not suit readers seeking gentle affirmation or those unwilling to confront their own shadow aspects directly. It is not for the faint-hearted or those preferring detached metaphysical theory over visceral emotional work. Readers looking for quick fixes or escape from reality will find little comfort here; this is a demanding text for those committed to facing the chaos of their inner world to achieve genuine spiritual health.
