This book offers a charming, albeit localized, dive into the supernatural aspects of Pocatello’s history. While it succeeds in creating an atmospheric narrative that highlights the region's unique spiritual energy, it may disappoint readers seeking rigorous academic paranormal analysis or global ghost stories. Those looking for high-level theoretical discussions on spiritualism might find the focus too narrow, confined strictly to the 'Gate City' and its immediate historical context. However, for enthusiasts of niche local lore and light historical fiction, it provides a pleasant, accessible read that respects indigenous roots while exploring phantom theater-goers and courthouse apparitions without overcomplicating the experience.
