Candle Magic for Beginners: The Simplest Magic You Can Do

Not my usual area but wanted to branch out. Solid binding, decent paper — holds up to heavy use. There's real depth here that reveals itself on a second reading. Highly recommend to serious students.

This has been on my wishlist for months. The print is clean and easy on the eyes for long sessions. If you're drawn to this subject, don't hesitate.

As someone who reads a lot in this field, I can be picky. The symbolism is layered and generous to patient readers. One of my better finds this year.

Not my usual area but wanted to branch out. It pairs well with more modern commentaries on the same tradition. If you're drawn to this subject, don't hesitate.

Exactly what I was looking for. I found myself reading passages aloud just to sit with them. The symbolism is layered and generous to patient readers. I'd have loved an index, but that's on the original text. Good, with the caveats above.

Bought this as a gift for my sister and ended up ordering a second copy for myself. Plenty of passages worth underlining; my copy is already full of margin notes. A text you study rather than simply read. Would buy from this store again.

Webster succeeds in demystifying an ancient art by focusing on fundamentals, making candle magick approachable for the layperson. The emphasis on simple mechanics and symbolic color meanings provides a solid foundation for new practitioners. However, this book does NOT suit experienced magicians seeking advanced ceremonial structures, complex correspondences, or deep historical analysis. Those looking for rigorous academic study or high-level ritualistic intricacies will likely find the content too basic. It is strictly a primer, designed to build confidence in beginners rather than challenge the adept. While it lacks depth for the serious scholar, its clarity and practical focus make it an excellent, no-nonsense guide for those ready to ignite their intent without getting lost in esoteric weeds.
