About the author
Don Miguel Ruiz Jr. is a Toltec wisdom teacher, part of the Ruiz family associated with the Toltec tradition popularized by his father's The Four Agreements. His book The Mastery of Self: A Toltec Guide to Personal Freedom, published by Hierophant Publishing in 2017, presents awareness, understanding, and what the book calls unconditional love as tools for reaching what it describes as an authentic self, framed through the Toltec idea that ordinary perception functions like a dream. Living a Life of Awareness: Daily Meditations on the Toltec Path, from 2013, arranges Toltec teachings into a six-month sequence of daily readings. Both books continue the Ruiz family's project of translating Toltec philosophy into a structured, accessible personal-development framework, aimed at readers already drawn to that tradition or introduced to it through The Four Agreements.
