The Necronomicon Book and Editions

The Necronomicon is a fictional grimoire invented by H.P. Lovecraft in the 1920s. It is attributed to the fictional author Abdul Alhazred and was originally titled Al Azif. No authentic ancient text exists, as the work remains entirely a product of modern fiction. This collection features sixteen books exploring this legendary artifact through various lenses of scholarship and interpretation. Buyers will find modern constructions rather than historical manuscripts. Available editions include the 1977 Simon Necronomicon and the Hay/Wilson/Langford edition. The selection also covers Lovecraft scholarship, providing context for the work's creation and its lasting impact on horror literature. These volumes offer a factual look at the text’s literary origins and its evolution in popular culture.
