Grabbed this during a weekend order. Solid binding, decent paper — holds up to heavy use. There's real depth here that reveals itself on a second reading. A few pages arrived with light corner wear, though nothing serious. Still worth having on the shelf.
This exceeded my expectations. Some sections stopped me cold in the best way. The ideas are old but land with surprising force today. It assumes more background than a beginner might have.
Took a chance on this and glad I did. The historical context alone makes it worth the price. Recommended if you're ready to do the work.
Took a chance on this and glad I did. You can tell why this work has endured.
Took a chance on this and glad I did. I appreciated how the argument builds steadily from first principles. The historical context alone makes it worth the price. Would buy from this store again.
Mistlberger presents a compelling, albeit intense, profile of three titans who rejected moral paragons for terrifying transformation. The book successfully frames these controversial figures not as depraved outcasts, but as masters of inner alchemy. However, it explicitly does NOT suit readers seeking gentle guidance or traditional religious comfort. Those expecting historical rigor over esoteric interpretation may find the focus on 'crazy wisdom' overly abstract. It is a challenging read for the spiritually timid, offering no easy answers, only the sharp blade of truth.
