⭐ Reader reviews
Reader rating
While the premise is compelling, this book may not suit readers seeking strictly accurate historical documentation or those who dislike romantic subplots intertwined with political violence. The heavy reliance on mystical elements might feel unsubstantiated to hardline history buffs. However, for fans of gothic-tinged historical fiction, it delivers a potent mix of intrigue and supernatural power. The characterization of Locusta is strong, though the pacing can feel uneven during periods of courtly maneuvering. It is best enjoyed by those willing to suspend disbelief regarding the extent of Druidic influence in Rome.
