About the author
Sorita D'Este is a British author and publisher specializing in the history, mythology, and ritual practice of the Western esoteric tradition, working largely through her own imprint, Avalonia. Her books on the goddess Hekate, including Circle for Hekate and Hekate Liminal Rites, combine historical and mythological research with material on ritual and symbolism, aimed at readers who want a documented foundation before undertaking devotional practice. Practical Elemental Magick and Practical Planetary Magick extend this same approach to the four elements and the seven classical planets, treating magical technique as continuous with older Western esoteric and hermetic traditions rather than as freestanding invention. D'Este's writing is consistently research-driven, citing source material and historical context alongside instruction, which has made her books reference points within contemporary Pagan and ceremonial magic circles. Her catalogue serves practitioners seeking scholarly grounding for ritual work rather than beginners looking for simplified introductions.
