About the author
Sandra Waddock is a professor of management at Boston College's Carroll School of Management, known for her scholarship on corporate responsibility, systems change and the role of values in business and society. Her book Healing the World: Today's Shamans as Difference Makers, published by Routledge, takes the traditional teachings associated with shamans as healers of communities and applies them, in a scholarly rather than practical or ritual sense, to contemporary problems such as climate change, poverty and injustice. The book treats shamanic tradition as a framework for thinking about leadership and systemic change rather than as a guide to shamanic practice itself. It is written for readers interested in management, social change and sustainability scholarship, and sits alongside Waddock's broader academic work on responsible business and large-scale societal transformation.
