About the author
Roger J. Horne writes on traditional and folk witchcraft for Moon Over the Mountain Press. Folk Witchcraft: A Guide to Lore, Land, and the Familiar Spirit for the Solitary Practitioner lays out craft theory, practical exercises, and material from the author's own working grimoire for solitary practitioners. The Witch's Art of Incantation collects some 180 spoken charms, spells, and curses drawn from historical folk-magic sources, organized around the different functions incantations were traditionally believed to serve, from summoning to cursing. A Broom at Midnight: 13 Gates of Witchcraft by Spirit Flight examines the folkloric image of witches traveling by spirit flight rather than in bodily form, as recorded in medieval and early modern witch-trial accounts. Horne's books draw on historical folk-magic sources and are aimed at practitioners of traditional or folk witchcraft rather than at general readers.
