About the author
Richard Hooper is represented here by two comparative-religion anthologies, The Essential Mystics, Poets, Saints, and Sages: A Wisdom Treasury and Jesus, Buddha, Krishna, & Lao Tzu: The Parallel Sayings, both published by Hampton Roads Publishing Company. The first gathers quotes and passages from Sufi, Buddhist, Hindu, Taoist, and other mystical traditions into a single wisdom treasury; the second arranges sayings attributed to Jesus, Buddha, Krishna, and Lao Tzu side by side in parallel columns to highlight shared themes across the four traditions. Both books work as reference and reading anthologies rather than original philosophical argument, organizing existing sacred and mystical texts thematically for readers who want to compare teachings across religious traditions. They suit readers drawn to interfaith and comparative spirituality rather than study of a single tradition in depth.
