About the author
Preston B. Nichols is the author most associated with the Montauk Project story, a set of claims centered on alleged secret experiments at the former Montauk Air Force Station on Long Island. He presents himself in his books as a radar engineer whose research into the 1943 Philadelphia Experiment led him to uncover a hidden history connected to the base. The Montauk Project: Experiments in Time, published by Sky Books and reissued in several expanded and anniversary editions, lays out this narrative of alleged time manipulation and government secrecy. The book has become a reference point within conspiracy and paranormal publishing for its account of psychic experimentation and extraterrestrial contact tied to the Montauk site. Nichols writes in a first-person, testimonial style rather than as an investigative journalist or historian, and his claims have not been independently verified. Readers of his work are typically already familiar with, or curious about, the wider Montauk Project mythology built around these books.
