About the author
Mūsā b. Nawbakht was a mundane astrologer of the 'Abbāsid period, writing in Arabic in the 900s AD. His work is preserved today through Cazimi Press's Astrology of the World series, which presents his treatises in translation for modern readers of traditional astrology. "The Book of Periods & Epochs" and its companion volume, "The Book of Fulfilment," together offer what the publisher describes as the most complete Arabic treatment of how to interpret mundane, or world-event, astrological charts, covering triplicity shifts, continuity between political regimes, the relationship between rulers and the ruled, and periods of rebellion and civil strife. "The Book of Fulfilment" alone draws on more than ninety historical chart examples to illustrate these techniques in practice. As a primary source rather than a contemporary author, Nawbakht's books are aimed at serious students of traditional and mundane astrology who want direct access to early Arabic astrological methods.
