About the author
Megan Lynn Kott is an artist and author known for Cat Tarot, whose success led to a related line of illustrated card sets and stationery published by Chronicle Books. Kitten Oracle pairs fifty original watercolor illustrations of kittens with a guidebook offering prompts for reflection and decision-making in an oracle-card format. Mushroom Spotter's Deck extends the same illustrated approach to fungi, combining a watercolor painting of each of seventy-eight mushroom species with identifying characteristics and folklore-style notes on the back of each card. Mushroom Notes applies the same mushroom illustrations to a set of all-occasion notecards rather than a card deck. Across these titles, Kott's work sits at the intersection of illustration, novelty stationery, and oracle-deck publishing, aimed at readers drawn to nature-themed art and lighthearted divination formats rather than to traditional tarot or in-depth fortune-telling systems.
