About the author
Jason Newcomb is the author of Sexual Sorcery: A Complete Guide to Sex Magick (Weiser Books, 2005) and 21st Century Mage: Bring the Divine Down to Earth (Weiser Books, 2002). The first addresses sex as a component of ritual and magical practice, a topic he argues many magical texts pass over; the second reinterprets the Abramelin operation, a historic system of ceremonial magic, into what he presents as a workable modern program across thirty-one chapters. Newcomb writes in plain, direct language aimed at practitioners rather than scholars, and both books sit within the Western ceremonial and Thelemic magical tradition. He is also credited, within his own books, as the author of The New Hermetics, indicating a sustained body of work in practical occultism rather than a single title.
