About the author
Jacki Smith is the founder of Coventry Creations, a candle-making company, and has spent more than two decades crafting magical candles according to her publisher's account. Her book The Big Book of Candle Magic, from Weiser Books, sets out candle magic practice drawing on that hands-on experience, covering how candles are prepared, dressed, and used in spellwork. A companion title, Coventry Magic with Candles, Oils, and Herbs, extends the same material into oils and herbal correspondences, offering recipes and simple rituals intended for readers at any level, from beginners to those already practicing magic. Both books present candle magic as a craft built from repeated practical experience rather than as scholarship, aimed at readers who want concrete recipes and instructions for love, protection, and related workings rather than historical or theoretical background.
