About the author
Enid Baxter Ryce is the author of two books that draw on historical and folk magical traditions for a contemporary practitioner audience. Ancient Spells and Incantations: Echoes of Magic Through the Ages and Across Cultures (Weiser Books, 2026) collects spells and incantations from across history, translated and interpreted for readers engaged in manifestation, protection, love, and related magical workings. Plant Magic at Home: A Complete Guide to Harnessing the Power of Nature from Rituals to DIYs (Running Press Adult, 2025) turns to plants as a source of ritual and remedy, aimed at readers regardless of whether they live in a rural or urban setting. Published a year apart by different imprints, the two books share a focus on translating old traditions, whether textual incantations or plant-based folk practice, into material usable in home ritual, placing Ryce's work in the occult-philosophy and folk-magic categories for a general practitioner readership.
