About the author
Derek Acorah (1950–2020) was a British psychic and television personality best known as the resident medium on the long-running series Most Haunted, which took him to reputedly haunted locations across Britain and Ireland for on-camera investigations. His books extend that public persona into print: The Psychic Adventures of Derek Acorah: Star of TV's Most Haunted (2004, Element) recounts his experiences with the spirit world, from private readings to televised investigations, and was a Sunday Times bestseller. Ghost Hunting with Derek Acorah (2005) offers guidance on locations, tools and the kinds of spirit activity an amateur ghost hunter might encounter, while Haunted Britain and Ireland: Over 100 of the Scariest Places to Visit in the UK and Ireland catalogues sites he investigated or recommends visiting. Across his output, Acorah wrote for the general audience built by his television appearances rather than for a specialist or academic readership.
