About the author
Ya'acov Darling Khan is a shamanic practitioner and teacher, co-founder with his wife Nicola of the School of Movement Medicine, an organisation that trains people internationally in movement-based shamanic practice. His books, including Jaguar in the Body, Butterfly in the Heart and Shaman, Invoking Power, Presence and Purpose at the Core of Who You Are, both published by Hay House, draw on years spent training with indigenous teachers across several continents. Jaguar in the Body describes his own initiation into shamanic work, while Shaman sets out practices meant to help readers reconnect with intuition and a sense of purpose. Darling Khan writes plainly about a tradition often treated loosely in the West, arguing that the role of shaman is earned rather than adopted, and his books combine memoir with instruction for readers newly curious about shamanism rather than academic specialists.
