About the author
William R Mistele writes practical guides to elemental magic within the Western esoteric and Hermetic traditions associated with Franz Bardon. Sylphs, Salamanders, Gnomes, and Undines sets out meditative exercises for engaging the four classical elemental beings, while The Hermetic Tree of Life structures magical and spiritual practice around the Kabbalistic Tree of Life, drawing on transpersonal psychology and Gaia-centered spirituality alongside traditional ceremonial material. Encounters with Mermaids focuses specifically on water elementals, presented as interviews with four undine or mermaid figures. All three books are published by Destiny Books between 2024 and 2026 and address readers already working within ceremonial magic, elemental work, or Bardon-derived practice rather than general newcomers to esotericism. Across the catalogue, Mistele frames elemental spirits as guides to untapped aspects of human potential and structures his books as sequential, exercise-based manuals rather than historical or descriptive surveys.
