About the author
W. W. Baggally was a British investigator associated with the Society for Psychical Research in the early twentieth century, known for his firsthand examinations of mediums and claimed telepathic phenomena. His book "Telepathy, Genuine and Fraudulent," first published in 1918, sets out his methods and findings from years of investigation, distinguishing cases he judged credible from those he found staged or mistaken. The book has been kept in print through several facsimile and reprint editions, including releases from Alpha Edition, Literary Licensing, Createspace and Tredition Classics, which preserve early twentieth-century psychical research for later readers. Baggally wrote as a practitioner of the investigative approach associated with the SPR, weighing testimony and experiment rather than advocacy, and his work remains a reference point for readers tracing the history of organized inquiry into telepathy and mediumship.
