About the author
V. Castro is the author behind the two titles listed here, both drawing on Aztec mythology and dark-feminine folklore reworked into contemporary horror and gift formats. The Goddess of Filth Affirmation Deck (Creature Publishing, 2026) is an affirmation card deck built around the Aztec goddess Tlahzolteōtl, addressing themes such as releasing shame and reclaiming personal power, and is described as a companion to Castro's earlier book Goddess of Filth. Tales of the Dark Feminine: Inspirational Stories of the World's Fiercest Goddesses (Watkins Publishing, 2025) collects twenty-six retellings of folktales and legends centered on fierce female deities and spirits from traditions around the world, blending horror and feminist reworkings of older myth. Together the two works position Castro within contemporary horror and folklore-based fiction that centers goddess figures and female power rather than conventional occult instruction.
