About the author
Suzanne Garbe is the author of two children's titles from Capstone Press's ghost-story line, Ghosts of Alcatraz and Other Hauntings of the West and Ghosts of Gettysburg and Other Hauntings of the East. Each book, published in 2014, takes young readers on a tour of reputedly haunted American sites, pairing Alcatraz Island, the Stanley Hotel, and the Queen Mary in the western volume with the Gettysburg battlefield, the White House, and the Lizzie Borden House in the eastern one. The format is brief and site-based, inviting readers to decide for themselves whether the reported hauntings are real rather than asserting that they are. The books are aimed at younger readers with an interest in American history and ghost lore, working as an introduction to well-known haunted landmarks rather than a deep study of any single case.
