About the author
Susan B Katz is the author of a series of illustrated nonfiction books for young readers on ghosts, hauntings, and the supernatural, published by Lerner Publications. Haunted Dolls and Famous Ghosts introduce children to well-known figures of ghost lore, from La Llorona to the Bell Witch, alongside stories about supposedly haunted toys. Haunted Places, also released in Spanish as Lugares Hechizados, takes readers on a tour of haunted hotels, castles, and landmarks, closing with a look inside a haunted mansion and facts about the history of hauntings. Written in short, accessible chapters aimed at elementary and middle-grade readers, Katz's books present ghost stories and legends as a way into reading nonfiction rather than as accounts intended to be taken as documented fact.
