About the author
Sidney Randall is the author of The ABC of the Old Science of Astrology for Beginners, originally published in 1917 and reissued in later editions by Cosimo Classics and Literary Licensing. The book is an introductory primer on astrology aimed at readers with no prior background, presenting the subject as a science in the framing common to early twentieth-century astrological writing, and expresses the author's conviction that horoscope study would eventually become a standard part of education. Beyond this single title, reissued more than once under near-identical titles, little else establishes the scope of Randall's work, so the book itself, an accessible, beginner-level introduction reflecting the astrological thinking of its period, is the best guide to what readers will find. It suits readers interested in the history of popular astrology as much as those seeking a practical beginner's guide.
