About the author
Michael Grosso is an American philosopher associated with the study of psychical research and the philosophy of mind, whose writing addresses consciousness, survival after death, and paranormal experience from an academic rather than a strictly devotional perspective. The Final Choice: Death or Transcendence? (2017, a revised edition of an earlier book originally titled The Final Choice: Playing the Survival Game) sets questions of civilizational crisis alongside its central theme of mortality and transcendence. Experiencing the Next World Now (2004) surveys evidence from psychic research bearing on the question of life after death. Yoga of Sound (2023), published by Inner Traditions, departs from this line of inquiry to present the life and teachings of Swami Nada Brahmananda, a teacher of sound and vibration practice. Across the three books, Grosso writes as a researcher engaging with contested territory rather than as a practitioner offering instruction.
